I hope you are soaking up sun, laughter and wildflowers wherever you are.

Around here, things have been BUSY. Winter was defined by nausea and fatigue, spring was a lot of solo-parenting (my hubs is a pilot and in the military), but good summer vibes have finally taken over and the past few weeks and have allowed for some painting projects, a planting experiment, and one very big surprise...

We're having a third baby... A GIRL!

After two little boys, I was concerned I might have to replace the pink daybed I just bought for my office. But I feel so grateful that I can now fully embrace my floral-loving destiny and have way too much fun designing her nursery. (Let's be honest—I may have been waiting my entire career for this moment.)

Here's a sneak peak of my vision:

Naturally, designing a girly room meant I "needed" to paint a few new things.

First up - a hand-painted wildflower wallpaper. I started with an inspiration board, researching western wildflowers and taking reference photos in (practically) my own backyard. Expanding my knowledge of natural subject matter is one of my favorite parts of being an artist. It was my first time painting coreopsis, horsemint and lobelia. Trying new things is good for the soul, my friends!

You can watch this floral-inspired room come to life on my instagram over the next few weeks!

And speaking of flowers (although when am I not?)...

This year I also attempted something I've never done before: growing zinnias from seeds.

I was fully prepared for them to immediately perish under the Texas sun, but somehow they've survived my gardening skills and have been blooming by the dozen each week.

With all of this blossoming inspiration on the daily, I've also been expanding my wildflower print collection, which now includes a Texas Wildflower and North American Wildflower Print. These gals are perfect for your next summer baby shower and a must-have for you gardening girlies.

So how did my baby-girl-inspired wallpaper turn out?

TADA!!!

Of course I wanted to share my favorite wildflower print to date with you all, so you can now find this print as a wallpaper on Spoonflower, and as fabric at Carriage House Printery.

As always, thank you for supporting this little watercolor business of mine. Every order lets me keep painting, dreaming up new collections, and occasionally convincing myself that I have room for just one more flower bed.

Wishing you a colorful summer,

Carrie
